Meet Elena, our EAAD trainee!

The EAAD had the great pleasure to host Elena Stuke for a two-month internship in our coordination centre.

Now we have asked her to take a look back to her time working with us...

What have you been doing before you came to Leipzig and what brought you to do an internship with the EAAD?

I had just finished my Bachelor degree in Intercultural Europe and America Studies and Psychology at the Martin-Luther-University in Halle (Saale). Since I would love to work in an international organization or a NGO one day, the work of the EAAD captured my attention, as it also combines both of my degree courses: interculturality and psychology.

How do you think you benefited from the time working with us?

I very much enjoyed being able to look behind the scenes and gain insight into the day-to-day work of an NGO. I learned what great amount of time and planning goes into non-profit work, and got to know the multiple small steps and great effort it takes to build an international organization and to coordinate this international work.

What are your plans after leaving the coordination centre in Leipzig?

I am going to start a second Bachelor degree in political science and subsequently apply for a Master degree in International Development Studies to pursue my goal of working for a worldwide improvement of health and safety.
