The European Alliance Against Depression (EAAD) is a non-profit organization established in 2008 by eight former EAAD project partners with headquarters in Leipzig, Germany. 

The eight founders are researchers from different universities, organizations and institutions:

                                           

Austria: Prof. Dr. Ulrich Meise, Gesellschaft für Psychische Gesundheit – Pro mente  Tirol

Belgium: Prof. Dr. Chantal van Audenhove, LUCAS, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven

Germany: Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hegerl, German Alliance Against Depression

Irleand: Dr. Ella Arensman, National Suicide Research Foundation

Netherlands: Prof. Dr. Christina van der Feltz-Cornelis, Trimbos Institute

Portugal: Prof. Dr. Ricardo Gusmao, Clinica Universitaria de Psiquiatria e Saude Mental, Faculdade de Ciencias Medicas de Lisboa

Spain: Dr. Victor Perez-Sola, Institut de Recerca, Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau

United Kingdom: Prof. Margaret Maxwell, University of Stirling, Department of Applied Social Science
