In the context of EAAD different versions of information leaflets have been developed in 9 European languages. All leaflets are designed in line with the corporate identity of EAAD and characterised by comparable lay-out elements like the writing of “depression” (including the loop) on the cover and a similar composition of text modules inside.

All leaflets contain information about local help offers on the first page. Logos of local sponsors are also placed here. On a second page general information about depression and its treatment can be found. The single paragraphs carry the slogans already known from the posters (“Depression can affect everybody”, “Depression can be treated”, “Depression has many faces”). The most comprehensive version of the leaflet also contains a self-test that can be answered by everybody and which – depending on the answers given – may result in a recommendation to get in contact with a professional. A shorter version of the leaflet (six-sided) contains possible warning signals which may indicate a depression and addresses of help offers. Several leaflets also include an emergency card carrying the phone number of a crisis helpline (free of charge) which allows a direct 24-hour contact to a specialist in case of an acute suicidal crisis.
