Dear EAAD Partners, Colleagues and Friends
Welcome to the EAAD spring newsletter!
This time of year brings sunshine, growth and the anticipation of summer. But ongoing global conflicts and uncertainty can still weigh heavily on our communities. World events can have a personal impact, particularly for those already facing psychological challenges.
As I look forward to the potential of 2026, I am filled with great pride about the many different projects and regions we are serving within our EAAD community. We are deeply committed to those suffering from depression and one of our aims for this year is to host the second European Patient Congress Depression on 28 November 2026 – save the date!
In other news, there are an important updates from Hungary and The Netherlands as well as project spotlights on our work with the Roma community and in Tanzania. We have also included information on recent data published by PROSPERH and the German Stiftung Deutsche Depressionshilfe und Suizidprävention.
Last but not least: EAAD is a non-profit organisation. In order for us to help those who need us, we always look for new funding options. This week is European Mental Health Week and we suggest a donation to EAAD of 1 Euro (or more) for every person you know who suffers from depression. Donate Here and share the campaign with your networks.
From all of us at EAAD, we hope you enjoy this newsletter.
Warm regards
Prof. Ulrich Hegerl, President EAAD
